Sweet Jane

Is it wrong to reread a book when there are so so many books I haven't read yet? Lately I have been in the mood for some Jane but have been resisting, telling myself that there are only so many reading hours in my life so I should be spending them on something new to me. But, what the hell? Maybe I should be spending them based on current whim, regardless of whether it is new or old. Actually, I feel no qualms about rereading if I am doing it aloud to someone else, but that doesn't come up much these days, sadly.

I started thinking about this again today since, during the free association that goes on during my lengthy drive in to work, I drew a blank on the title of Emma (and the name of the title character, too, obviously ;-) ), which bugged me. Of course, I was coming at it from a strange direction (Kate Beckinsdale), but still.

Re: having not had enough coffee yet...
ooo... wicked sounds interesting. I will have to check that out.

(btw, my sleep has been doing that crazy on again off again thing I had posted about in your LJ, more frequently now. Weird. Not necessarily bad, but weird)

Re: having not had enough coffee yet...
just looked at the full title of wicked, which i had not the energy to do earlier when i posted. it is wicked: the life and times of the wicked witch of the west by maguire (gregory i think). lovely book.

right now, in the part i am reading currently, the wicked witch is a toddler, being introduced by her mother and mother's Nanny to socialization play at a sort of...er...well, to use modern day terms, play school for the children of Oz.

such a good book. i am savoring it. i rather devoured the pilot's wife by anita shreve last week, but this one i am nibbling daintily.

as for sleep...i posted on my new sleep thingie earlier today. glad to know i am not the only one rather perplexed by this whole sleep issue. thing is, it is so much more fun to be awake and sleep seems like such a dreadful waste of time when there are more productive things i could be doing with that time. and night is just so...yummy and decadent.
