Freak out!

I saw this Commonly Confused Words test in indigoskynet's LJ. I had a great deal of fun taking it so I'm passing it on for the edification of other English language freaks.

Hey, but mine said I beat 100% of the people in my age category.. perhaps they drew the line at 24..

Or maybe they made the categories each individual birthday. :-P

I did come across some other flakiness in the statistics part, so it may just be a bug. Still, it might be amusing to look at everyone today with the attitude that you beat 100% of the people in your age category, anyway (just to be on the safe side). Just don't shout out "owned!" or "how does the floor taste?" when you see someone in your actual age category. ;-)

haha I beat everyone too... I get the distinct feeling that their algorithm is not working.

I found it funny that I still knew the right answers... even though I frequently (and sometimes willfully) ignore them in actual use. :-P For some reason, it was nice to have a chance to actually think about them again, though. Perhaps I should devote a day a month to doing it 'their' way.

In honor of your brainiac status I hereby bestow some virtual 'head pats' upon you until you can see your English teacher again. ;-)

chances are I won´t see my English teacher again, barring reunion, maybe, should I be dumb enough to go. so please keep up those virtual "head pats" ;) I might start purring, though

I am Extra-Terrestrial! I find it amusing that users aged 55 - 59 scored highest on everything. Goes to show you the english language gets abused more and more each generation.

And of course their English is an abuse of their grandparents' English.

Now we're talking! Yeah, that is part of why I ignore the 'right way' myself... just doing my part to keep the language alive. ;-) I am particularly creative in my use of punctuation. :-P

Pssht... each generation just makes it their own. ;-) Fortunately, this never caught on.
